Looking to the Future
building front overview
The past 75 years have brought many changes to this town of Finland. During the 1920's Finland was a prosperous thriving town, in the hills of southeastern Pennsylvania. The depression years, however, hit this community very hard. It was during this time that the Vision for Finland Mennonite Church was born. There was a desire from within the Franconia Mennonite Conference to minister to the needs of the families in this community. An old store building was rented out and on May 17, 1931 Finland Mennonite Church held it's first service. Over the next decade land was donated for the church and a building was constructed on that land. On September 10, 1939 Finland held its first service in our current building.

The vision that started Finland Mennonite Church is still bright today. We have a desire to minister to the needs of the growing community around us. Our church has outgrown its original small building and is now planning a new church campus on Zielger Rd. In our plans for a new facility we have included a multi-purpose building to allow for a variety of recreational, social and family activities and a special room to hold various programs and seminars. We hope and pray that this facility will serve both our church body and the local community.

Much prayer, research and discussion has gone into the planning of this project. We believe now is the time to move forward with this Vision. We believe God is leading us through this situation. We invite you to pray with us and for us as we continue to allow God to work in making this Vision to become a reality. On April 5th, 2009 we held a Ground Breaking Service. Land developement is almost completed. On September 16, 2009 the congregation voted unanomously to start the multi-purpose building. Our desire is to see that building underway as soon as possible.
